Our Attorneys
Attorney Matthew Patterson was born in McAlester, Oklahoma and raised on a ranch in Stuart, only 20 miles west of his birthplace. Mr. Patterson’s love of the Oklahoma outdoors and strong work ethic, learned in these early days, shine through in his work for injured clients throughout Southeastern Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Mr. Patterson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Sothern Nazarene University, his Master of Arts from the University of Oklahoma, and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all Oklahoma state courts, as well as the Eastern Oklahoma Federal District Court, which covers both Tulsa and McAlester.
Attorney Tony Edwards, also a McAlester native, attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, following his graduation from high school in Stuart, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology.He received his law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1982.
Mr. Edwards is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Oklahoma, and the state and federal courts of Arkansas. He practiced law with the Stipe Law Firm in McAlester for several years before founding the Edwards Law Firm in 2006 in order to provide a more personalized approach to the practice of law. In 2015, he partnered with Mr. Patterson to launch Edwards & Patterson Law.

Mr. Patterson is a past president of the Pittsburg County Bar Association. He also serves on the board of Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and the Pittsburg County Youth Baseball Association. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and their son.
Mr. Edwards has served as an Elder of the Lakewood Christian Church for 20 years. He has also served on the boards of the McAlester Boys & Girls Club and Shared Blessings. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and their five children.
