Honoring Our Veterans. Do you know a veteran whose service, sacrifice and patriotism have inspired you? If so, Edwards & Patterson Law invites you to nominate the veteran for an award in our 2019 Veterans' Grant Essay Contest. It is our law firm's way of expressing our appreciation to those who have fought to protect our country and the liberties that we enjoy every day.

To nominate a veteran, we ask you to submit an essay by our July 1, 2019 deadline.
We will then choose two deserving veterans and award a combined total of $1,500 in cash grants:

First Place$1,000

Second Place$500

Who is Eligible for a Grant?

Anyone can submit an essay which nominates a veteran for a cash grant. The nominee must be a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.) Veterans may even nominate themselves.

How do you Nominate a Veteran for a Grant?

To nominate a veteran, you must email ereiss@consultwebs-email.com these things:

An essay of at least 600 words about the veteran
A photo of the veteran
Your phone and e-mail contact information

In the essay, you must explain why the veteran deserves a cash grant. The essay should describe the veteran's service, including the veteran's branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, dates of service and highlights of his or her military career. The essay should also describe how the writer knows the veteran. For instance, is the veteran a relative, friend, neighbor or co-worker? You can nominate only one veteran per essay.

What is the Deadline for Nominations?

Nominations must be received by no later than 11:59PM on July 1, 2019. Please send nominations to: ereiss@consultwebs-email.com.

When will winners be Notified?

Our law firm will appoint a panel to review all essays and nominees. The panel's selections will be final. We will announce the two winners of our 2019 Veterans' Grant Essay Contest on August 15, 2019.

General Rules

By submitting an application, you acknowledge that Edwards & Patterson Law owns all rights to publish, distribute and promote the essay.

By submitting an application, you also grant Edwards & Patterson Law the right to use the veteran's name, biographical information and photograph for marketing or other purposes.

Persons eligible for this competition must have been discharged from active military service under other than dishonorable conditions.

Employees of Edwards & Patterson Law, Consultwebs, Inc., and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter this competition.

By participating in the grant contest, applicants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Edwards & Patterson Law, Consultwebs, Inc., and its members, officers, directors and employees against any and all liability and costs associated with the contest or the acceptance or use of prizes.

Winners will be solely responsible for any federal, state or local taxes which apply to the cash grant.
